Catalyst Cooks for the KidsFort Lauderdale, FL – July 2, 2014
On Wednesday July 2, the Catalyst Solutions Fort Lauderdale team donated items and prepared a Spanish inspired meal for over 30 children and family members staying at the Ronald McDonald House. As part of the non-profits’ “Adopt a Meal” program, Catalyst shopped, prepared, and served home cooked fajitas, rice, beans and accompaniments.
Ronald McDonald Houses are situated closed to hospitals so that families have a “home away from home” for several weeks or months while their child is sick in the hospital or undergoing treatment. The Adopt a Meal Program provides a home cooked meal for the children and family members who are taking care of their sick children, and don’t have the time, resources or energy to prepare a meal themselves.
This is the first time Catalyst Solutions has given back through the Ronald McDonald House and definitely won’t be the last. Catalyst's Operations Liaison, Dena Bustamante said that “We plan on making this a company-wide effort as a part of our Catalyst Cares program. Our hope is that we’re able to synchronize with the Denver team and adopt meals for our local chapters on the same days.”
Catalyst Cares is Catalyst’s social responsibility program which is committed to supporting charitable causes in the community. This program encourages employee participation by offering three days of paid time off for volunteering endeavors annually.
