Rachel Spilo is an entrepreneur and healthcare leader with over 27 years of experience in the healthcare payer industry. She is the Founder and Chairwoman of Catalyst Solutions, a company that has grown from a regional consultancy to a nationally recognized provider of payer solutions. Under her leadership, Catalyst has grown into a trusted partner for many of the nation’s largest health insurers, delivering business process outsourcing and innovative solutions that optimize performance and deliver measurable value. The company has expanded globally and earned industry recognition for its growth, innovation, and its reach, scaled its operations globally, and received recognition for its growth and client impact.
In 2024, Rachel founded healthplans.ai, where she serves as CEO. The company helps health plans embed AI as a core operational capability to improve efficiency, reduce administrative burden, and enable more informed decision-making. Unlike traditional technology-first approaches, healthplans.ai is built on three decades of deep, hands-on payer expertise, giving the company an unmatched understanding of the operational realities plans face every day. The launch of healthplans.ai reflects Rachel’s commitment to advancing AI innovation, powered by her 27+ years of payer-industry experience and a focus on solutions engineered for the operational demands of health plans.
Rachel has been recognized with numerous awards throughout her career, including the Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Companies, the Small Business Administration's Entrepreneur of the Year, and multiple honors from Colorado Business Magazine and other national publications. Yet she is best known for her values-driven leadership, emphasis on integrity, and commitment to building inclusive, high-performing cultures.
Beyond her business achievements, Rachel is the founder of The Impact of One, a nonprofit rooted in the belief that small actions can ignite profound change. Inspired by a volunteer trip to Kenya where she helped bring clean water to a remote Maasai village, The Impact of One now supports access to healthcare, education, agriculture, and gender equity across communities in need. It also proudly partners with The Cara Project to advance child protection and women’s empowerment.
Over the years, she has built and led companies that employ hundreds of people and serve some of the largest and most complex health plans in the country. Her ability to anticipate industry disruption, embrace innovation, and execute quickly has position both Catalyst Solutions and healthplans.ai as leaders in the healthcare ecosystem.
Rachel currently resides in Denver, Colorado, where she enjoys adventure travel, boating, and spending time with her husband and three sons.
